Chocolate gift baskets are a great gift which you can either buy online or do yourself. You can create gift baskets filled with exclusively white chocolate or alternatively, only dark chocolate. Health buffs generally prefer dark chocolate to white chocolate since these have seventy percent cacao which means there is a higher amount of health-giving ingredients.
You can also create a gift basket with assorted types of chocolate and even include a stuffed toy, some wine or balloons to your selection in order to create an overflowing basket of gifts your recipient will undoubtedly enjoy.
To create a gift basket, the first thing you need to do is go to your nearest craft store or home improvement store and look for a basket. If you are making more than one gift basket, wholesale stores may give you a discount if you buy more than three baskets.
Generally, oval-shaped baskets are easier to work with rather than square or rectangular baskets since the corners of the baskets that are not round are harder to fill and are not as aesthetic. Your basket can also either be varnished or unvarnished. Depending on the look you are going for, you can get a pink basket for bridal or baby girl showers and red or green baskets for the holiday season.
After you have selected and purchased your baskets, you will also need some confetti or crumpled up pieces of tissue or any other paper. Next, go to your nearest grocery store or chocolate specialty store and select a wide array of chocolates. You can find chocolates with just one brand, type or color. Alternatively, you can find chocolates that are of different varieties.
You can mix white and dark chocolate covered nuts and raisins with chocolate bars. You can also get chocolate bars that are different heights and shapes. If you want to go the extra mile, you can change all the paper brand wrappers of the chocolates into wrappers you have printed out yourself containing the recipient’s name or the occasion. This way all the chocolates in the basket will have the same ‘brand.’
Next, begin by putting the crumpled up pieces of paper or confetti on the bottom of the basket in order to create some height for your arrangement. Put all the ‘taller’ or bigger chocolates against the back of the basket and the shorter or bags of chocolate balls towards the front of the basket.
Make sure there are no empty spots or places that look unfilled. Fill any empty spaces with colorful confetti or artificial flowers such as roses. You can also fill the empty spaces with even more chocolate. Wrap the arrangement with cellophane wrapper of your choice and tie with a nice bow. Do not forget to include a card.
